The Principal Civil Service Pension Scheme (PCSPS), the Civil Service Additional Voluntary Contribution Scheme (CSAVCS), the Civil Service Compensation Scheme (CSCS) and the Civil Service Injury Benefits Scheme (CSIBS) are statutory schemes created under the Superannuation Act 1972.
Cabinet Office introduced a new pension scheme, alpha, in April 2015. This new scheme is set out in separate legislation - in the Public Service (Civil Service And Others) Pension Scheme regulations.
From 1 October 2002, the PCSPS includes the classic, classic plus and premium schemes. From 30 July 2007, the PCSPS also includes nuvos.
