In this episode, we hear how life has changed in retirement . Linda spends time studying (for a part-time degree in Theology) and volunteering at Southwark Cathedral.

She is also Co-Chair of the Civil Service Pensioner's Alliance, an organisation which supports and campaigns on behalf of pensioner members of the Civil Service Pension Scheme to ensure they get the best out of their retirement.

Linda tells us about the reaction she gets when she talks about being retired, and the unconscious bias she’s experienced as a post-menopausal woman. She looks back on her working life fondly, and how the Civil Service family that surrounded her helped her through some difficult times.

She shares words of wisdom for members approaching retirement - how to mentally prepare for one of the biggest lifestyle changes you'll experience, and how it's never too early to start thinking about your retirement - even if you're in your 20s or 30s.

It's clear that Linda's retirement years are proving to be the best ones yet, and the things she's doing are made possible because she has a Civil Service Pension.
