For six decades, the Fellowship has been a lifeline of companionship, support and advocacy for those who have dedicated their careers to serving the public.

A Proud Legacy of Service and Support

Founded in 1965, the CSRF was created to offer friendship and support to retired civil servants, many of whom found themselves isolated after leaving their roles. Over the years, it has grown into a vibrant national charity with a range of services designed to improve the wellbeing and social lives of civil service pensioners.

From organising social events and local groups to offering welfare support and befriending services, the CSRF provides a crucial sense of community for thousands of retirees. These services combat loneliness, improve mental health and create lasting friendships—things we all cherish, especially after leaving the daily rhythm of work behind.

Why Your Support Matters

If you're reading this, you’re likely receiving a civil service pension or know someone who is. You know how the civil service shaped your life, your skills and your sense of duty. But retirement, while fulfilling, can also be a time of significant change, with its own challenges. Many retirees experience a drop in social interaction, and the need for a strong support network becomes more apparent.

That’s where the CSRF comes in. The Fellowship provides a safety net to ensure no one faces retirement alone. But as the number of retirees grows, so too does the need for resources and support. This is where you can make a meaningful impact.
