Health Management Limited (HML) has been awarded the contract for Scheme Medical Adviser (SA) to the Civil Service Pension Scheme

Timing
The new contract will run for three years from Wednesday 1 November 2023 through to Saturday 31 October 2026. The Scheme Manager reserves the option to extend the contract by a further period of up to 12 months.
Detail
HML has been awarded the contract to be the Scheme Medical Adviser for the Civil Service Pension Scheme (the procurement exercise began in 2022 and concluded in March 2023).
They have been contracted to deliver an improved Portal to enhance communications and efficient processing, enhanced Management Information for the contract manager and employers, as well as maintaining robust security standards.
In the coming months, the SMA will work with the Cabinet Office and Scheme Administrator to revise the existing application forms for the different CSPS services.
Over the life of the contract, and with input from employers, the SMA will work with the Cabinet Office and Scheme Administrator to develop a completely digital referral process, which will then be rolled out for use by all employers.
HML systems will continue to receive their security due diligence through routine meetings with the Cabinet Office’s Security Working Group.
For now, the operational process for submitting an application under the CSPS will remain the same (some employers use the HML Online portal, while others do this manually).
From 1 November 2023, revised pricing will be applied to new applications submitted after that date. Pricing annex is attached below.
