To ensure that members planning to retire after 30 September 2023 receive accurate quotes in line with the 2015 Remedy (McCloud) legislation, MyCSP will begin to provide retirement quotation options for both Legacy (classic, classic plus, premium and nuvos) and Reformed benefits (alpha). This is known as ‘Deferred Choice Underpin’ (DCU). The Remedy period is 1 April 2015 – 31 March 2022.

In the lead up to the 2015 Remedy (McCloud) legislation coming into place on 1 October 2023, members who are planning to retire after 30 September 2023, will receive two retirement quotations which will outline their options under their Legacy and Reformed schemes (DCU).
These quotes are to ensure that members can make an informed choice on the retirement benefits they would like to receive for the Remedy period.
Members must meet the remedy eligibility criteria and the 31 March 2012 presence check, to be entitled to remedy options. If the presence check is not met, then a standard non-remedy quote will be issued.
For any future Exit Schemes, the Exit Team will be applying the same transitional solution and will liaise with employers on an individual basis.
Exceptions
Some member scenarios are still under review, where remediation of a DCU quote may not be possible. In these circumstances MyCSP will work with the Scheme Manager to ensure that a quote is supplied, so that a Deferred Choice Underpin option pack can be presented to the member at a later date. We will inform any affected members if this is the case. If a member is due redundancy terms, we will update the employer in this instance.
Some members retiring on Final after Partial grounds may not receive a DCU option with their quote. If their earlier partial retirement is also within the Remedy period, they will instead receive a retrospective option for their partial retirement. This will then also be applied to their Final after Partial retirement. Members will receive their options between January 2024 and February 2025.
