Summary of amendments

Due to the introduction of the following changes: Cessation of Contracted Out Earnings (CoCOE), Shared Parental Leave, and the addition of the deletion file format, there have been multiple amendments to developer guides (Full, Standard, Manual) and other documents (Compendia Manual Interface Template and Hints and Tips Guide).

The sections below will help you to identify the areas within the guide/document that have been amended due to the changes. Please take the time to read these important updates to ensure that data is transferred to MyCSP in the correct format.

The Scheme Administrator (MyCSP) will issue revised versions of the guides to relevant interface contacts by Friday 23 December 2016. If you do not receive a copy it may be that your contact details are not up to date. In the event of this you can request a copy from InterfaceTeam@mycsp.co.uk

Revised version of the Full Interface Developer Guide

The Full Interface Developer Guide has been revised and released under version 7.3.

The changes are:

1. Section 6.4 ‘Person Deduction and Earnings’ (page 28) - additional text added to instruct Employers/Payroll Providers/Shared Services not to supply a deduction type of ‘ERNIC’ in the ‘Deduction_Type’ field for periods starting on or after 1 April 2016. This is as a result of members no longer having the option to be contracted-out of their Civil Service Pension scheme (from 6 April 2016).

2. Section 6.4 ‘Person Deduction and Earnings’ (page 30) – update to the notes section held against the Deduction_Type field. The ‘notes’ section now contains an instruction for Employers/Payroll Providers/Shared Services to not insert a deduction type of ‘ERNIC’ for period starting on or after 1 April 2016. This deduction type should still be used for periods starting prior to 1 April 2016.

3. Section 6.5.12 ‘Unpaid Absence’ (page 58) – update to the ‘Description’ of the following Absence values ‘G’, ‘H’, and ‘S’ to include Shared Parental Leave.

Revised version of the Standard Interface Developer Guide

The Standard Interface Developer Guide has been revised and released under version 5.4.

The changes are:

1. Section 4.4 ‘Deletion Files’ (pages 13-14) – the addition of deletion file format and requirements for the Standard Interface. N.B: Employers are responsible for ensuring that your payroll provider/IT partner is made aware of the revised version and requirements to provide deletion files where data needs to be deleted from the MyCSP Compendia Pension database.

2. Section 5.2.10 ‘Payment History’ (page 45) – addition of text to instruct Employers/Payroll Providers/Shared Services to input a value of 0.00 into the COEARN or COEARNE fields for periods starting on or after 1 April 2016. This is as a result of members no longer having the option to be contracted-out of their Civil Service Pension scheme (from 6 April 2016).

3. Section 5.2.10 ‘Payment History’ (pages 47-48) – instructions have been added to the ‘Special Instructions’ section held within the COEARN and COEARNE fields. This instructs the Employer/Payroll Providers/Shared Services to input a value of 0.00 into the COEARN or COEARNE fields for periods starting on or after 1 April 2016.

4. Section 6.1 ‘STARTCDE – FOR USE ON SERVICE HISTORY’ (page 55) – update to the ‘Start Reason’ for the following codes MF, MN, and MS to include Shared Parental Leave.

5. Section 6.2 ‘ABSENCE CODE – FOR USE ON SERVICE HISTORY’ (page 57) – update to the description of the following codes MF, MN, MS to include Shared Parental Leave.

Revised version of the Manual Interface Developer Guide

The Manual Interface Developer Guide has been revised and released under version 2.2

The changes are:

1. Section 4 ‘The pay history (nuvos)’ (page 17) - addition of text to instruct Employers/Payroll Providers/Shared Services to input a value of 0.00 into the Total CO Earnings applicable fields on the interface for periods starting on or after 1 April 2016. This is as a result of members no longer having the option to be contracted-out of their Civil Service Pension scheme (from 6 April 2016).

2. Section 5 ‘The pay history (alpha) (page 19) - addition of text to instruct Employers/Payroll Providers/Shared Services to input a value of 0.00 into the Total CO Earnings applicable fields on the interface for periods starting on or after 1 April 2016. This is as a result of members no longer having the option to be contracted-out of their Civil Service Pension scheme (from 6 April 2016).

3. Section 7 ‘The pay history (premium and classic plus) (page 24) – addition of text to instruct Employers/Payroll Providers/Shared Services to input a value of 0.00 into the Total CO Earnings applicable fields on the interface for periods starting on or after 1 April 2016. This is as a result of members no longer having the option to be contracted-out of their Civil Service Pension scheme (from 6 April 2016).

4. Section 8 ‘The pay history (classic) (page 26) - addition of text to instruct Employers/Payroll Providers/Shared Services to input a value of 0.00 into the Total CO Earnings applicable fields on the interface for periods starting on or after 1 April 2016. This is as a result of members no longer having the option to be contracted-out of their Civil Service Pension scheme (from 6 April 2016).

5. Appendix I ‘Start Code – For use on service history tab’ (page 46) – update to the ‘Start Reason’ of the following codes MF, MN, and MS to include Shared Parental Leave.

Revised version of the Compendia Manual Interface Template

The changes are:

1. Service History Crib sheet – addition of Shared Parental leave against the ‘Absence Types’ in rows 74 to 94 and 183 to 185.

2. Service History tab (‘Start Reason’) – amendment to the description of the ‘MF’, ‘MN’ and ‘MS’ codes. The descriptions now read ‘Maternity/Shared Parental leave (Full Pay)’, Maternity/Shared Parental leave (Unpaid)’ and ‘Maternity/Shared Parental leave (Statutory Maternity/Shared Parental Pay)’ respectively.

3. Pay History tab (Total CO Earnings field) - amendment to comment box instructing Employers/Payroll Providers/Shared Services to input a value of 0.00 into the Total CO Earnings field for periods starting on or after 1 April 2016.

4. Pay History tab (Cat’y E CO Earnings) – amendment to comment box instructing Employers/Payroll Providers/Shared Services to either input a value of 0.00 into the field or leave it blank for periods starting on or after 1 April 2016.

Revised version of the Hints and Tips Guide

The Hints and Tips guide has been revised and released under version 1.1.

The changes are:

1. Service History Crib sheet – addition of Shared Parental leave against the ‘Absence Types’ in rows 74 to 94 and 176 to 178.

2. Service History tab (‘Start Reason’) – amendment to the description of the ‘MF’, ‘MN’ and ‘MS’ codes. The descriptions now read ‘Maternity/Shared Parental leave (Full Pay)’, Maternity/Shared Parental leave (Unpaid)’ and ‘Maternity/Shared Parental leave (Statutory Maternity/Shared Parental Pay)’ respectively.

3. Pay History tab (Total CO Earnings field) - amendment to text instructing Employers/Payroll Providers/Shared Services to input a value of 0.00 into the Total CO Earnings field for periods starting on or after 1 April 2016.

5. Pay History tab (Key Elements) – additional bullet point to instruct Employers/Payroll Providers/Shared Services to input a value of 0.00 into the Total CO Earnings field for periods starting on or after 1 April 2016.

6. Pay History tab (Key Elements) – additional bullet point to instruct Employers/Payroll Providers/Shared Services to either input a value of 0.00 into the Cat’y E CO Earnings field or leave it blank for periods starting on or after 1 April 2016.
