Date posted: 02/03/2014
Audience: This notice will be of interest to:
- HR Managers; and
- HR staff dealing with pension questions
Action: Issue the attached notice to your employees about the increase in Principal Civil Service Pension Scheme (PCSPS) members’ contributions. You should issue the notice by your normal employee communication method.
Timing: Please issue the notice by 25 March 2014
- The Cabinet Office has amended the PCSPS rules to allow the deduction of increased employee pension contributions from April 2014. This means employers are legally obliged to collect the increased contributions from April 2014. EPN367 told you the increased rate of contributions.
- MyCSP have again arranged for St Ives to send a letter to all PCSPS members telling them about the further increase in their contributions. The mailing was completed on 25 March 2014. Scheme members should therefore now have their letter. As with other years we expect some letters will be undeliverable due to incomplete or out of date member addresses. To ensure all scheme members have access to the letter you should issue the notice at Annex A to this EPN using your normal communication method, working with your organisation’s Head of Internal Communications as appropriate. You should also make your shared service provider (if you have one) or your employees’ first point of HR contact aware of the notice. Please note you will need to insert contact details and the appropriate information if you chose to distribute the letters yourselves.
- If your employees have questions about the increased contributions more information can be found on the website.
Contacts If you have a question about the distribution of EPNs or you need to receive them in a different format contact employerpensionnotice@cabinet-office.gsi.gov.uk.
