- EPN281 sets out the background to the change from RPI to CPI.
- Employers are receiving a number of enquiries from members who are unhappy about the change. These questions usually come from members who have purchased added years, added pension or have transferred in service from previous pension arrangements. The attached question and answer sheet will help employers manage these enquiries.
- If a member remains dissatisfied and asks how they can take their complaint further, then they should be advised to use the Internal Dispute Resolution (IDR) Procedures. Details of IDR procedures can be found on our website. As any complaint would be about overarching pension legislation, exceptionally complaints about CPI/RPI are being fast tracked to the second stage of the IDR procedure.
